Everyone keeps talking about May and how busy it is.
They ask if I’m stressed yet because it’s assumed I should be.
I just tell them I’m in denial.
Because yes, I know May will be busy.
My youngest turns 15 on the 15th. (something about a golden birthday)
My oldest graduates from high school. (this is uncharted territory)
We have a wedding to go to the day after graduation.
The graduation party will be a waffle brunch the following morning.
Both grandmothers will be here together.
(Epic - they are from opposite coasts and this has NEVER happened before.)
So even though I know all this is coming…and soon…
I’m trying to savor each day and focus only on it. (Maybe I just don’t want to think about cleaning.)
In reality though, after these events take place, our family will change drastically.
I’m not sure I’m ready for that.
My 18 year old is.
She has a quarter countdown in a crystal glass for how many days of school are left.
Each day she comes home and gleefully pulls out a quarter to add to her collection.
(I don’t think she realizes she’ll be using them all for laundry in the fall.)
But this Momma’s heart loves having her kids around.
Eighteen years ago, everyone told me this day would come…soon.
Well, soon is here.
So, if you’re ahead of me on this journey, HELP!
I’d love to hear how you savored the days and made them special.
